Cookies, storage and caching
A cookie is a small value stored by a browser and sent with relevant future requests. Local storage can keep website information after a tab closes. Session storage usually lasts for a browsing session. These are different from a browser’s cache of downloaded images, fonts and other files.
Whether permission is required depends on the purpose and applicable rules, not simply whether a technology is called a cookie.
What this website currently uses
- Advertising and analytics: the current public website does not include advertising pixels, analytics cookies or third-party analytics scripts.
- Application storage: this website does not set its own cookies or save preferences in local or session storage. There is no visitor login session on this marketing website.
- Website delivery: pages and media are delivered through Microsoft Azure. Your browser makes technical requests to load them; the absence of application cookies does not mean that these requests contain no personal information.
- Browser cache: your browser may keep downloaded resources to load the site efficiently. Cache duration depends on the resource and browser settings. This cache is not used by this website to build an advertising profile.
There are currently no optional advertising or analytics technologies on this website for a consent banner to enable. If optional technologies are introduced, this information and the choices required for them will be updated before those technologies are activated.
Videos, email and other destinations
Our demonstration video is a website media file, rather than an embedded third-party video player. Playing it does not open an advertising video platform.
Contact links open your chosen email application. Information you send is then handled through email, including your provider’s services.
Following a sign-in link takes you to a learning application with its own account and device-storage needs. Those may include access information, selected profiles, preferences and work awaiting synchronisation. This website inventory does not describe every store used by those applications.
The separate Toddle corporate website uses a local-storage item called tls-lang to remember a language you select. It has no automatic expiry in that website’s application code. Clearing its site data can remove the preference; choosing a language again stores it again.
Managing browser and device data
Your browser’s privacy or site-data settings let you inspect, block or remove cookies and stored website data. You can also clear cached files. The names of these controls vary between browsers.
Take care when clearing data for a signed-in learning application: this can sign you out, reset preferences or remove work that has not synchronised. Check that important work has been sent first, and ask a parent, carer or school administrator for help on a shared device.
